Every now and then I find that when I try to get a book to download onto my Kindle it just decides to not download.
After some persistence and time wasted, I kinda managed to do it. Anyways, this fixes most problems. Now try downloading it back from the cloud section. You can also choose to download and transfer it to your device from your computer using a USB cable. It should work and has worked for some or if not most of our readers. If not, make sure to comment down below. If you tried all of the above and you still find that none of which does the trick, then you can always get a hold of Amazonor even comment down below.
Thank you so much! Number 4 fixed mine. I tried everything else, and nothing was working. I spent all day trying to get this sorted out. My books download normally, but after reading so much the next time I go to read some more the book has gone back into the cloud and I have to redownload it. All other books no problem. Downloads every time. Same thing happens when using iPhone connected to WiFi at home.
Who knew? I have a book i got thru Libby library app that wont download to kindle plus the old library book i returned wont disappear from my kindle. Thank you for this! Disconnecting and reconnecting to my network worked for me. Hello I am an American in Acaba Jordan for a few weeks. I have downloaded many books in past to my Kindle on iPad.

Quite bizarre problem; Amazon had created a zombie account for me same username, same email, same password. When I logged in to buy an e-book, it took me to the zombie account but my Kindle was attached to the real account.
I tried to move mobi ebooks to my kindle. The books were transferred fine, I can see them on my kindle drive on the computer. The problem was when I opened my Kindle to arrange the books I transferred, they weren't there. How To Remove DRM From Kindle eBooks Using Calibre (100% Free)
I tried reconnecting my kindle to the computer and the books are still there. I don't know what's wrong. File size can be an issue. I've found that if the book's file size is greater than 50MB, the file will transfer to the documents folder on disk, but not appear on the kindle. In my case, I used Calibre to convert mobi to azw3, which reduced the file size, and the book then appeared on my kindle.
I don't know why these books aren't showing up, but an alternative method you might try is using the Send to Kindle app from Amazon. There are versions for PC and Mac that you can download at www. You may want to check the settings on your pc, in particular the mobi files themselves. I'm not sure, but I've had "missing" files before.
Try right clicking on the file and selecting "properties". From their, on the "General" tab, make sure at bottom Attributes the "Hidden" box isn't checked. Maybe Amazon has stopped selling this book any longer, and delete it from their library.I downloaded Calibre but there is no button for 'send to device'.
I have a Kindle Fire and I can't seem to transfer the converted files. I right click on the file and press 'send to' but the 'send to device is not highlighted'. When you have converted files with calibre, they are sent to a folder in 'My Documents' called 'Calibre Library'.
Go in there and you can simply drag and drop the converted file into your Kindle Fire when its 'conected as Media Device'. The original file will be in there too, so make sure you pick the one that is converted.
It will be obvious when you see it. You can set up Calibre to 'manage Kindle library' but I have not, preferring the manual method I describe above. To my knowledge, the kindle can't "accept" files that way. If you have an ebook on the computer that you want on the kindle, you need a usb cable.
Separatley, you can download books from the kindle store. Also, I have an app on the kindle for my local library that downloads books off the net, allowing me to read on the kindle. Of course,it is much easier to get an improved picture by watching the action images ,then browsing through all these words.
Hi, I downloaded Calibre but there is no button for 'send to device'. Thanks for the help. Answer Save. James C. Favourite answer. Calibre For Kindle Fire. Michael Lv 4. Kindle Fire: How to display .mobi files as books and not documents
Cheers. Still have questions?
Get answers by asking now.MOBI is a well-known e-book format. You can find many MOBI ebooks on the www. This situation causes some inconvenience of managing a large number of ebooks as you have to browse in two different categories. Or just think about the scene that your favorite ebooks are mixed with some uncorrelated documents. It's totally a mess! Some MOBI ebooks are added personal document tag when generated so that the Kindle Fire will recognize them as documents but not ebooks.
After knowing this, you may ask "How about removing this personal document tag"? Yes, this is exactly we need to do. Calibre is the right tool for doing this job. Step 1 Download and install the latest Calibre on your PC. You can add more books at a time. Step 3 Select all books in the list and choose "Convert books". Then click "OK" to start conversion.
Added by Chad Cloman: Amazon has changed things. It is no longer sufficient to just delete the [PDOC] tag. You must also add the [EBOK] tag exactly as shown, with brackets. Step 4 You can see the conversion progress at the bottom right corner. When the number turns into "0", the conversion job finishes.
It's no longer stay in "Docs". Jonny Greenwood joined Epubor sinceloves everything about eBooks and eReaders. He seeks the methods to read eBooks more freely and wants to share all he has got with you. I have the same problem and no matter what convertion I do, I ended up with the books on the doc folder IOS devices.
I don't transfer the books via cable, I just upload them via Amazon. These then dont show up on the kindle. The only way I could get them to load as books on the kindle was this:.
This as you may well understand was a complete ball ache given my library is in excess of books!!! I just spent a couple hours on this, and I want to thank you for providing the resource that finally got me a solution. One update, though I tried loading to the Books folder directly and using Calibre and tried converting the MOBIs to [EBOK], but neither of those things worked could only read through docs, and could not save progress.
Changing the format to AZW3 allowed me to load to the Books folder through Calibre and have the books show up in the Fire's Kindle app. I've gone through everything here with no solution. My books were not recognized and not automatically added to my books section, I could open them manually but after some time the app was closed and I had to navigate and search to where I was recently Before 2 months or so it was working if I copied a mobi file to Books folder on my Kindle Fire 7 and book was automatically added to Books.
But it stopped working like this and I don't know why - probably there was a system update. But I found a solution and I want to share it if someone is trying to figure this out, like I was.
